Terms of Use & Software License

Last updated: August 27, 2026

2. Mayflower Studios intellectual property

Unless a page, file, or third-party license says otherwise, the original material created and published by Mayflower Studios is owned by or licensed to Mayflower Studios and is protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual-property laws. This includes, where applicable, source code, compiled programs, executables, games, mods, tools, scripts, website code, databases and original data compilations, written text, stories, documentation, artwork, illustrations, icons, graphics, photographs, screenshots created by us, videos, audio, UI designs, layouts, logos, project branding, and other original assets.

All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. Access to a webpage or download does not transfer ownership of the underlying work and does not place it in the public domain.

For more detail, including permission requests and copyright complaints, see our Copyright & Intellectual Property Notice.

3. License for Mayflower Studios software & downloads

Unless we expressly provide a different license with a particular download, Mayflower Studios software is licensed, not sold. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the software for its intended purpose.

You may not, without prior written permission from Mayflower Studios:

  • Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, redistribute, mirror, re-upload, bundle, or otherwise provide copies of our software or downloads to others.
  • Remove, hide, or alter copyright, authorship, attribution, license, or ownership notices.
  • Claim our software, code, assets, or designs as your own, or imply that you created or officially represent them.
  • Copy or extract protected artwork, photographs, icons, sounds, text, data, or other assets from a program for use in another project.
  • Modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly prevents this restriction.
  • Use our software, code, or assets to create or distribute a substantially copied or confusingly similar competing product.
  • Bypass licensing, update, authentication, security, access-control, or anti-abuse mechanisms.

Making a reasonable backup copy solely for your own use is permitted where needed to use the software. Third-party libraries, game assets, open-source components, or other materials included with a project remain subject to their own licenses and owners’ rights.

Updates and versions

We may update, replace, discontinue, or change software at any time. Updates may add, remove, or change functionality. Unless an update says otherwise, these Terms apply to updates and replacement versions too.

4. Artwork, photographs, stories & other media

Our original images, photographs, illustrations, graphics, stories, writing, promotional art, and other media are provided for viewing through Mayflower Studios. Unless we clearly offer a separate reuse license, you may not copy, repost, republish, sell, print for distribution, edit and redistribute, use as another project’s assets, or commercially exploit them without written permission.

You also may not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download our protected content, build a reusable content or image dataset from it, or use our original content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or supply a generative-AI or machine-learning dataset without prior written permission, except where such a restriction is not enforceable under applicable law.

Nothing here is intended to prohibit uses that applicable law expressly permits, such as legally protected exceptions or limitations to copyright. If you want to use something beyond ordinary personal viewing, ask first.

5. Your content stays yours

Mayflower Studios does not claim ownership of original content you submit, upload, write, draw, or send through account, profile, chat, room, guestbook, contact, or similar features. You remain responsible for your content and for having the right to share it.

You give Mayflower Studios only the limited permission reasonably necessary to host, store, process, transmit, display to the intended recipients, moderate, and otherwise handle that content so the feature can work, be secured, and comply with law. This operational permission ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to normal backups, moderation records described in our Privacy Policy, security needs, and legal obligations.

Do not upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or other rights.

6. Acceptable use

When using Mayflower Studios websites, accounts, rooms, chat, downloads, or services, you may not:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, or abuse other people.
  • Post, transmit, stream, or distribute illegal content or content you do not have the right to use.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, databases, administrative tools, or another person’s data.
  • Interfere with, overload, probe, exploit, attack, or deliberately break the service.
  • Distribute malware, malicious code, credential-stealing material, or harmful automated traffic.
  • Use scraping, bots, or automation in a way that harms the service or copies protected Mayflower Studios content at scale.
  • Use Mayflower Studios branding in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, partnership, endorsement, or official status.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, block access, or take other reasonable action when we believe these Terms, another person’s rights, or the safety of the service are being violated.

7. Third-party services, games & materials

Mayflower Studios projects may work with or refer to third-party games, services, APIs, platforms, media, trademarks, or assets. Those materials belong to their respective owners. References to a game, company, platform, or trademark do not imply sponsorship or endorsement unless we expressly say so. Third-party services and downloads may have their own terms, privacy rules, and licenses.

8. Availability, warranties & responsibility

Mayflower Studios is an independent project and the websites, software, downloads, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Features may change, break, be unavailable, or be discontinued. You are responsible for keeping backups of anything important and for deciding whether a download or feature is suitable for your device or use.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mayflower Studios disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of or inability to use the service or software. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Termination of permission

Your permission to use Mayflower Studios services or software under these Terms ends if you materially violate these Terms. On termination, you must stop the unauthorized use and delete copies that you are no longer licensed to possess, except where applicable law gives you a continuing right. Provisions concerning ownership, intellectual property, disclaimers, and responsibility survive where their nature requires it.

10. Changes & contact

We may revise these Terms as projects and features change. The “Last updated” date shows when this version became current. Material changes apply prospectively from the updated version’s publication, subject to applicable law.

Questions about these Terms, licensing, reuse permission, or intellectual property can be sent through the contact page or to [email protected].
